Homeopathy is both a talking therapy and we give medicine. We aim to listen in an unprejudiced and confidential way. It is called holistic because we are interested in the whole person. We do not see people in terms of disease names. Every thing is connected. We ask what may seem strange questions that you might think irrelevant to what you came for e.g. What is your favourite food or holiday location? We are interested in how you as an individual respond to the experiences that life throws at you. At the first appointment you will be asked about your medical history and any relevant family medical history. The beauty of homeopathy is that there are no wrong or right answers. No interpretation is made from what you say; in fact it is important that only the clients own words are used. After the consultation I work to make a coherent ‘whole’ from what you have told me. I will aim to find via a methodical process, an appropriate remedy that when it was tested on humans produced similar symptoms to those that you are experiencing. Benefits of the Therapy: A very important benefit of homeopathy is that the remedies are not toxic or addictive. I usually will give you only one pill roughly once a month until your next appointment, when we can together to review and assess any changes. We aim for long-term benefit rather than a short-term quick fix. Homeopathy is a process. You are involved in the process. The benefit is to bring you back to your own individual optimum health. The changes are often subtle and gradual. After taking the remedy there may be a change in mood, an increase in energy with a feeling of well being or just being happier in your own skin.
