I have been a complementary therapist for almost ten years and I thoroughly enjoy using my therapies to enhance client’s abilities to heal and function in their every day lives. I work tailoring my therapies to the needs of every individual. No one is equal and what you went through is yours and how you deal with your issues are very particular to the way you are as a person. We are body, mind, emotions and spirit in essence. For me the important thing is that you allow yourself to improve in all these areas.
I use my intuitive feelings with my clients and a lot of positive energy, care and respect towards my clients. I enjoy the process of knowing/treating clients year after year. My work is based on helping clients to become more functional and be more aware of their body structures and its positioning. I enjoy teaching a few techniques to help clients to ease their pains and discomfort. I ensure they will only do what they can and advise exercises that can help improve their posture and joint mobility when necessary.
I enjoy practising Kundalini yoga for many years, I love being surrounded by nature and the seaside has a particular effect on me. I have been attending seminars on nutrition and this is a field that I have also become very keen on. I believe we are what we eat and every body has a different requirement in terms of nutrition, rest, exercises and hydration. For the body to help you, firstly, you need to give the first step to heal your body. Give the right tools and healing can happen smoothly. Reading books on healings, family epigenetic and other books related have increased my understanding in life and the issues that we face while we are here physically. I keep an open eye to the universe and its abundance in all senses.
I am also fluent Portuguese. Conversational Spanish and Mandarin.
Therapies Offfered
Swedish Massage - one of the primary goals of the Swedish massage technique is to relax the entire body. This is accomplished by rubbing the muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart. The five basic strokes are effleurage (sliding or gliding), petrissage (kneading), tapotement (rhythmic tapping), friction (cross fibre or with the fibres) and vibration/shaking.
Deep Tissue - Deep Tissue Massage is a massage technique that focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. It aims to release the chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep finger pressure on the contracted areas, either following or going across the fibres of the muscles, tendons and fascia.
Aromatherapy - uses essential oils extracted from herbs, flowers and fruits to naturally enhance the benefits of massage. Aromatherapy massage gives you best of both worlds – massage and essential oils. These therapeutic or relaxing massages bring new life to your body. And when you’re pregnant, it’s essential to stay as relaxed, calm and anxiety-free as you can. So what better way to help you do exactly that than with a dab, inhalation or splash of essential oils? Once they’re absorbed into the bloodstream, they can have a similar effect to medicines, whether it’s to help relieve sickness, calm your mind or help you feel more energetic.
Energy Healing - promotes healing by enhancing energy flow and correcting disturbances in the “human energy field” or “aura” which permeates and surrounds the body. Improving the flow of energy in the energy field supports the self-healing capacity of the body.
Reflexology – involves the application of pressure to the feet and hands with specific thumb, finger, and hand techniques. It is based on a system of zones and reflex areas that purportedly reflect an image of the body on the feet and hands, with the premise that such work effects a physical change to the body.
Manual lymphatic drainage - is a type of gentle massage which is intended to encourage the natural drainage of the lymph which carries waste products away from the tissues back toward the heart. It is a great addition to other detox measures, as it encourages fluid flow in the connective tissues. The lymphatic system is composed of lymph vessels, lymph nodes, and organs. Also, as a primary tool in lymphoedema management.
Myofascial Release - Myofascial Release is a safe and very effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue restrictions to reduce discomfort and restore motion. Trauma, inflammatory responses, and/or surgical procedures create Myofascial restrictions. Our one-on-one therapy sessions are hands-on treatments during which our therapists use a multitude of Myofascial Release techniques and movement therapy.
Kinesio Taping - gives support and stability to your joints and muscles without affecting circulation and range of motion. It is also used for Preventive Maintenance, Oedema, and to reduce discomfort. Kinesio Taping is a technique based on the body’s own natural healing process. (Note: if Kinesio tape is added to the treatment there will be a small donation request as I use 100% cotton tape)
